New DJI Osmo Action 2

It was very exciting discover the introduction of two fresh products by DJI over the past two months. The all-new Mini 2 drone and the Pocket 2 received very positive evaluations from their first test and are a pretty decent improvements over their previous models.

Additionally, in the spring of this year, we witnessed Mavic Air 2’s premiere. Mavic Air 2 premiere which quickly became the most sought-after drone, and we couldn’t resist the opportunity to purchase it too.

We are having the feeling that there’s some kind of product that was not being released this year, and we’re very looking forward to hearing some announcements from DJI regarding the new model of the DJI Osmo Action 2 camera.

Don’t get us wrong There’s nothing wrong in the Osmo Action at present. Osmo Action but we have several brand new GoPro action cameras in the market, and we think it’s the right time to wait for DJI to launch Osmo Action 2.

One thing to note is that regardless of the fact that the first generation came out in the past, it was still very competitive with more modern action cameras such as GoPro Hero 7 and GoPro Hero 8 because of the excellent firmware updates.

Osmo Action 2 – product updates

Here is a few of the suggestions (or could you say, expectations) regarding what we would like to observe during this generation of Osmo Action second generation:

Stabilization has been improved The RockSteady stabilization performed a fantastic job when we used it alongside our Osmo Action but we have noticed that GoPro is a bit ahead with their new generation of action cameras. We’d like to have the RockSteady functioning in 4k HDR mode, too.

Larger sensor – we all know this is a difficult issue when discussing action cameras, but we have seen that some competitors have integrated larger sensors on their action cameras, resulting in impressive results, and with improved lighting capabilities in low light.

The upgraded 4k and likely 6k video quality. The video quality that we see in the initial generation of Osmo Action is very good but it’s not as good as the 2022 model. Also , it would be wonderful for the future if DJI shifts to higher resolution such as 8k or 6k to ensure compatibility over time.

Here are the things we love about the original Osmo Action and want to keep in the next generation in 2023:

Front display
Removable lens cover
Simple menu
Long battery life
Affordably priced

Overall, we’re happy of our experience with Osmo Action but we truly believe that it’s time to get Osmo Action 2. We hope to have its debut in the first quarter of 2023. Of course, it’s the responsibility of DJI to decide when and when the product will appear and be available for purchase.
